The Van tab is your vehicle’s home — a living dashboard that puts everything about your van in one place. Your compliance dates, your maintenance schedule, your service history, fuel economy, drive recordings, and more, all organised under one roof and always up to date.

🏠 Your Van

Everything about the vehicle itself.

  • Setting Up Your Van Profile — Name, photo, icon, registration, VIN, dimensions, weight, tank capacities, fluid specs, and all the data that powers the rest of the app
  • Managing Your Fleet — Running multiple vehicles, switching the active van, and keeping each one’s data separate
  • The Crew — Adding travellers and pets to the crew, and how their weight factors into the payload calculation
  • Compliance and Legal Dates — MOT, insurance, road tax, and breakdown cover: tracking renewal dates with countdown bars and automatic reminders

🔧 Keeping It Running

Maintaining your van, tracking what you’ve spent, and monitoring fuel economy.

  • The Maintenance Schedule — Scheduling recurring service tasks with time and distance intervals, and monitoring vehicle health at a glance
  • The Service Logbook — A chronological financial record of every service, repair, and upgrade with odometer tracking and exportable reports
  • Fuel Log and Economy — Logging fill-ups, tracking cost per km/mile, viewing your efficiency trend, and estimating trip fuel costs

🛣️ On the Road

Recording drives, reviewing your history, levelling your pitch, and documenting your van’s life.

  • The Drive Recorder — Recording live GPS routes with the pre-flight checklist, live map, elevation profile, and intelligent tracking modes
  • Drive History — Viewing all saved drives, replaying routes, exploring the All Trips Map, and importing GPX files
  • Level Assist — Using the iPhone gyroscope to achieve a perfectly level pitch, with precise per-wheel raise calculations in Precision Mode
  • Vehicle Gallery — A per-vehicle photo album for build progress, exterior shots, interior photography, and mechanical documentation

How It All Fits Together

The Van tab is the source of truth for your vehicle’s identity. Data entered here flows outward:

  • Dimensions and weight → Manifest payload heatmap and weight distribution (see Payload and Weight Management)
  • Crew weights → Payload calculation (see The Crew)
  • Fluid specs → Ticker tape on the Van tab home screen
  • Kerb weight and GVM → Payload allowance ring (see Understanding the Manifest)
  • Service odometer readings → Average daily km for maintenance countdown projections
  • Drive logs → Contribute to Trips and the all-time odometer

The Van Tab Home Screen

When you open the Van tab, you see:

  1. Fleet Carousel — Swipe between all your vehicles. The active vehicle is synced across the app.
  2. Smart Van Card — Quick controls for your connected van accessories (if enabled)
  3. Ticker Tape — A horizontal scrolling strip of your van’s dimensions, tyre pressures, fuel type, and fluid specs
  4. Digital Glovebox — A summary card linking to your van’s documents (see The Glovebox)
  5. Manifest Summary — Payload status and a link to the Manifest (see Understanding the Manifest)
  6. Leveling Assistant — One tap to the level tool
  7. Tools Grid — Four quick-access cards: Service History, Fuel Log, Drive Recorder, Drive History
  8. Vehicle Health — Your maintenance schedule at a glance
  9. Compliance & Docs — MOT, insurance, tax, and breakdown renewal status
  10. Quick Notes — A freeform notes field that saves directly to the van profile
