Managing_Your_Fleet

Vanlife Assistant is built for real vanlife — and real vanlife sometimes means more than one vehicle. A van and a motorbike. A camper that goes away in winter and a daily driver. A fleet of work vans. Whatever your setup, the Fleet Manager keeps all your vehicles organised and makes it easy to switch between them.

From the Van tab home screen, the header carousel shows all your vehicles. Swipe left or right to see each one.

To open the full Fleet Manager, go to Settings and tap the Fleet Manager card at the top. The Fleet Manager shows all your vehicles as cards, with the active vehicle pinned to the top.

You can also open it from Settings → Vehicle.

Only one vehicle is active at a time. The active vehicle is the one that:

  • Appears first in the Fleet Manager and is pinned to the top of the list
  • Powers the Manifest payload calculation and weight heatmap
  • Filters the Fuel Log and Service Logbook to show only its entries
  • Determines which zones appear under “Onboard Storage” in the Manifest
  • Is referenced when the voice assistant answers questions about “my van”

The active vehicle is shown with an accent-coloured border and an “Active” badge on its Fleet Manager card.

Tap Set as Active on any vehicle card in the Fleet Manager. The newly selected vehicle jumps to the top of the list with a spring animation, its border lights up, and all connected features immediately switch context.

You can also switch the active vehicle by swiping between vehicles in the header carousel on the Van tab. After a brief pause (0.2 seconds), the carousel selection becomes the active vehicle.

In the Fleet Manager, tap Add Another Vehicle at the bottom of the screen. A new vehicle is created with the name “New Van” and the editor opens immediately so you can set it up. See Setting Up Your Van Profile.

There’s no limit on the number of vehicles you can add.

  • Van profile (name, photo, icon, specs, fluids, notes)
  • Compliance dates (MOT, insurance, tax, breakdown cover)
  • Maintenance schedule
  • Service Logbook entries
  • Fuel Log entries
  • Manifest zones and inventory
  • Glovebox documents
  • Drive logs and trip history
  • Vehicle gallery photos

Switching the active vehicle switches all of these contexts simultaneously.

Each card in the Fleet Manager shows:

  • Van photo or icon
  • Van name and registration
  • Make, model, and age
  • Odometer reading (with units preference applied)
  • Maintenance status: a colour-coded indicator showing whether any tasks are overdue (red), due soon (orange), or all good (green)
  • Set as Active / Active badge

Long-press a card to access Edit and Delete options directly, or use the Edit and Delete buttons on the card.

Swipe left on any vehicle card in the Fleet Manager and tap Delete. An alert warns you that deleting the vehicle permanently removes all associated maintenance logs, documents, cargo zones, drive logs, and photos. This cannot be undone.

If you delete the active vehicle, the app automatically selects another vehicle as active if one is available.

Each vehicle has its own set of Manifest zones. When you switch the active vehicle, the Manifest home screen updates to show that vehicle’s onboard zones. Items in offboard zones (storage units, etc.) are shared context and visible regardless of which vehicle is active.

You can move items between zones on different vehicles using the Loading Bay — including loading gear from one van’s zones into another.
