Living in a van means space is at a premium, and losing a physical paper document like an insurance certificate or a passport can be a nightmare. The Digital Glovebox allows you to digitise, organise, and track every important piece of paper in your life.

🗂️ How Organisation Works

Instead of a messy, single list of files, the Glovebox organises your documents by Owner Scope:

• Vehicles: Documents tied to your van (e.g., MOT, V5C, Vehicle Insurance).
• Travellers: Personal documents for specific people (e.g., Passports, Visas, Medical cards).
• Finance / Receipts: Proof of purchase and warranties.
• Inventory / Junk Drawer: Manuals for your appliances, or random bits of paper you aren’t sure where to put.
• Custom Containers: You can even build your own custom folders for specific trips or needs!

🛠️ Step-by-Step: Adding a Document

1. Open the Glovebox: Navigate to the Glovebox tab in the app.
2. Tap the ’+’ Button: Tap the floating action button in the bottom corner.
3. Choose the Owner: The app will ask where this document belongs. Select your Vehicle, a specific Traveller, or a custom container.
4. Attach the File: Choose how to attach the document:
   • Scan: Use the camera to create a multi-page PDF (Great for contracts).
   • Photo: Pick an existing image from your camera roll.
   • File: Import a PDF directly from iCloud or your phone’s files.
5. Fill in the Details:
   • Title: Give it a clear name (e.g., “Van Insurance 2026”).
   • Category: Pick a color-coded category (like Legal, ID, or Service).
   • Expiry Date: Crucial! If this document expires, toggle this on and set the date. The app will automatically track this and warn you when it is due!
   • Tags: Add tags like “Border” or “Medical” to make finding it later instant.
6. Tap Save.

⏰ Expiring Soon & Alerts

If you set an Expiry Date on a document, you never have to worry about forgetting to renew it.

• The app will automatically place it in an Expiring Soon section at the top of your Glovebox when the date approaches (showing an orange or red warning badge).
• The app will send you push notifications before your MOT, Insurance, or Passport runs out.

🏷️ Pro-Tip: Using Tags

Tags are incredibly powerful. You can tag a document with a Context (e.g., “Border”, “Emergency”), a Type (e.g., “Passport / ID”), or a Workflow (e.g., “Needs Renewal”). Tap the “Filter” icon at the top of the Glovebox to instantly pull up every document across your entire van that shares a specific tag!
